Black History Post: "Guilty til Proven Innocent"🚨👂📢🗣️🎙️

This country, it seems to me,

It is full of hypocrisy and bigotry.

The people here merely, because of the color of our skin,

They are often judged unfairly and are considered:

“Guilty ‘til Proven Innocent”.

We’re constantly fighting, at war with the “powers that be.”

Who tricked us into believing we had gained equality? Our

characters and liberties, we must constantly defend,

Because we are viewed as:

“Guilty til Proven Innocent.”

"Innocent until proven guilty" is how it’s supposed to be

In the home of the brave and land of the free

However, unfortunately, 

The manner in which the system is (overwhelmingly) contradictory

is completely unsatisfactory!

We’re being “sentenced” before we go to trial.

Having our (basic) human rights disemboweled

Our voices and testimonies are gone unheard and silenced

Because of the general/societal consensus of: 

“Guilty til Proven Innocent.”

It seems and appears to be some blatant

discrepancy, Strategically placed within the democracy,

This fact, in my opinion, is more than evident because

of the racially-motivated, societal philosophy of

 “Guilty ‘til Proven Innocent.”

America has said that it is a “republic,” “one under God.”

“Indivisible,” with “liberty and justice for all.” 

Therefore,

(with that being said)

Allow us to clearly present our case,

Allowing us to adequately prepare our defense,

Before you deem us: 

“Guilty Until Proven Innocent”!

    ✊🏾✊🏾 This is a Powerful piece . I felt this on so many levels .. even before we , get a job we are “ guilty until proven innocent”… in a sense .

    They gather to critique , judge, compare (“ value”), etc to determine .. compensation, worth, position, title, qualifications …& then decide your “judgment” , Hired or not!!

    As Women, As Melanated Ones, Chosen Ones, Individuals etc..

    It seems thats how (subconsciously ) live… “Guilty until proven innocent “… Always having something to prove! To ourselves, to others , to those before us !?

    I DONT KNOW!!
